2-part Jū Jikan manga runs in Shōsetsu Hōseki magazine

Acclaimed manga creator
Moto Hagio launched her two-part adaptation of Yū Nagashima's
Jū Jikan (10 Hours) short story in the November
issue of
Kobunsha's
Shōsetsu Hōseki magazine on Saturday. The story centers around sisters in a poor, fatherless family in northern Japan. In addition to the first half of the manga, the magazine published comments by Nagashima.

The two-part story is part of a larger
project to have manga creators adapt many of Nagashima's
works.
Fantagraphics Books published Hagio's
A Drunken Dream and Other Stories in North America last year, and it will
print her
Heart of Thomas (
Thomas no Shinzō) manga next August.
